UN APPEL À L’AIDE ET À L'ACTION DU PEUPLE ANISHINABÉ  DE LA FORÊT (ALGONQUINS)

Communiqué - Une coupe à blanc illégale à grande échelle a lieu en ce moment dans la « réserve faunique La Vérendrye », à 300 km au nord-ouest de Montréal, et le peuple Anishinabé traditionnel est décidé à la stopper. Les Anishinabés invitent toutes les personnes de bonne volonté à se joindre à eux pour arrêter les coupes et protéger la forêt.

Les peuples traditionnels qui habitent dans la forêt depuis des temps immémoriaux n’ont jamais vendu leur terre. La coupe a lieu tout près de leurs habitations, sur le territoire de chasse ancestral dont ils dépendent pour leur survie, ce qui bouleverse le mode de subsistance de ces peuples chasseurs et cueilleurs.

La Nation algonquine du Bassin-versant de la rivière des Outaouais (Algonquin Nation of the Ottawa River Watershed) ordonne à tous ceux qui sont impliqués dans l’abattage industriel de quitter immédiatement son territoire (en date du 29 juillet 2014). La Nation prend position pour se défendre, défendre son territoire et défendre la vie de la forêt, et elle ne reculera pas !

Acceptez cette invitation du peuple traditionnel Anishinabé et allez les rejoindre sur leur territoire pour les aider à protéger ce qu’il reste de la faune sauvage ici. Joignez votre voix à la sienne pour dire aux Canadiens et aux gouvernements canadiens et québécois qu’ils doivent cesser cette destruction et mettre fin immédiatement à la coupe sur le territoire Anishinabé traditionnel.

Prenez le temps de vous informer sur ce qui se passe et soyez attentifs aux appels à l’action qui vous seront envoyés, faites-le pour les générations futures et pour l’environnement.

CALL TO ACTION FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE FOREST

The Anishinabe (Algonquin) people need your help! 

Massive illegal clear-cutting within the “Reserve Faunique La Verendrye”, 300 km NW of Montreal, is taking place right now and the Traditional Anishinabe People are taking a stand to stop it.  They are calling out to all people to come up to their territory to stand with them to stop the cutting and protect the forest.

The Traditional Anishinabe people who have lived live within the forest since the memorial of time have never sold their land. The cutting is occurring in their ancestral hunting grounds upon which they still depend, right near the people’s homes, directly affecting their livelihood as hunters and gatherers.

The Anishinabe of the Ottawa River Watershed are demanding that all involved with the industrial logging leave their territory immediately (as of July 29, 2014).  They are taking a stand for themselves, their territory and all life that lives in the forest and they are not backing down!

Please accept the  invitation of the Traditional Anishinabe people and go up to their territory to help them protect what’s left of the wildlife here and tell the Canadian people, the Canadian and Quebec officials that they must stop this destructiveness and immediately end all cutting within the Anishinabe Traditional land.

Please take the time to understand more about what is happening and take heed of this call to action for the future generations and the environment at large.
